The SNC works towards a negotiated end to the conflict benefitting the Syrian people through dialogue, peaceful means, and democracy in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.\r\n\r\nThe SNC seeks the services of a professional translator who will provide translation and interpretating services as follows:\r\n<h4><strong>Key Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Work directly under the supervision of the SNC\u2019s Leadership.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Accompany the SNC\u2019s leadership\/delegations in meetings to provide simultaneous interpreting.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Provide written translation from Arabic to English and\/or English to Arabic.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Review and edit translated materials to ensure language, meaning, and grammar accuracy.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure appropriate translation based on the SNC needs and according to the cultural and geopolitical context.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Support the SNC Media Team in translating various media content.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent in translation, interpreting or language studies.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven experience related to translation and interpreting.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge related to the Syrian file and\/or the MENA context.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Attention to details.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to respect tight deadlines.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Good sense of communication.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n1 Nov 2024 \u2013 31 May 2025\r\n\r\nThis is a remote position.
