Our Head Office is based in Nyon, Switzerland with over 50 staff.\r\nOur mission is to build power for working people through growing strong unions and to change the rules of the game in the global labour market to ensure respect and dignity in the global workplace.\r\n<h4><strong>About UNICARE<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nUNI Care (private care and social insurance) is a large, growing, exciting and dynamic sector within UNI Global Union. This sector has developed a strategic action plan which unites and aligns efforts in all UNI regions for coordinated and integrated action.\r\n<h4><strong>About the Role<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThe Senior Research Consultant on the Care Economy will play a pivotal role in UNI Care\u2019s mission by producing strategic research, analysis, and advocacy materials to empower care sector unions and support global efforts to advance workers\u2019 rights. Reporting to the Head of UNI Care and UNI Care\u2019s Senior Coordinator, the consultant will be instrumental in gathering data, generating insights, managing knowledge, and engaging stakeholders to drive transformative change.\r\nAs a Senior Research Consultant your main tasks will be to:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Conduct in-depth research and produce analysis on the care economy, including policy, sector, corporate and country profiles, to support UNI Care\u2019s goals.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Develop and implement knowledge management practices to capture, organize, and disseminate critical information, ensuring the accessibility of insights and research findings for internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Monitor and report on relevant developments in the care sector, including union activities, labor laws, and policy changes affecting workers, and maintain up-to-date repositories of this information for the UNI Care team.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Gather, organize, and validate evidence from various sources, including UNI affiliates, international organizations, and civil society, to ensure comprehensive and reliable data for research and advocacy initiatives.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Prepare materials, presentations, and documents for high-level meetings, conferences, and forums to effectively communicate research insights.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Present research findings to UNI affiliates, donors, policymakers, and other stakeholders, fostering understanding and support for UNI Care\u2019s initiatives.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Collaborate closely with UNI affiliates and partners to collect evidence and data, reflecting the real-world challenges faced by care sector workers and informing advocacy and policy recommendations.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Develop reports and proposals tailored for donors, showcasing UNI Care\u2019s impact and securing support for continued initiatives.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThis is a consultant position and can be remote.\r\n<h4><strong>Experience &amp; Competencies<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThis is a demanding role that requires significant skills and experience. Our successful candidate\r\nwill have:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A strong personal commitment to the goals of UNI Global Union and the trade union movement.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven academic knowledge and credentials about the care sector and especially about the care economy.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong writing, public speaking and communication skills.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Fluency in English, spoken and written, is essential.
