Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, UICC\u2019s growing membership of over 1150 organizations across 170 countries and territories features the world\u2019s major cancer societies, cancer centers, ministries of health, research institutes, and patient groups. Fostering inclusive partnerships represents the foundation of how UICC operates and delivers impact. This is why UICC works hand in hand with a variety of stakeholders to drive changes and make progress in the fight against cancer.\r\n<h4><strong>About the ATOM Coalition<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThe Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition is a global initiative led by UICC in collaboration with over 40 partners across the private and civil society sectors. The ATOM Coalition aims to reduce cancer-related suffering and deaths by addressing barriers to the availability, affordability, and appropriate use of oncology medicines in low- and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs). The Coalition focuses on strengthening the capacity of countries and systems, increasing the availability of essential generics and biosimilars, and enabling access to patented medicines and new medicines in the pipeline.\r\n<h4><strong>Summary of the Position<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nUICC is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead the Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition.\r\n\r\nThe Executive Director of the Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition will lead the Secretariat of the ATOM Coalition, providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure the successful implementation of the Coalition\u2019s objectives.\r\n<h4><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Provide strategic direction and leadership to the ATOM Coalition, ensuring alignment with UICC\u2019s mission and goals.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Oversee the development and execution of the Coalition\u2019s strategic and operational plans, as guided by the ATOM Executive Committee and in liaison with the UICC CEO and COO.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Manage the day-to-day operations of the ATOM Coalition Secretariat, including team management, budgeting, and resource allocation noting that the team is operating globally.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Represent the ATOM Coalition in external meetings and international conferences, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and civil society organisations.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Work with the UICC COO in the recruitment process for key staff and external consultants, ensuring the Secretariat has the necessary expertise to achieve its objectives.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Collaborate closely with UICC senior management to coordinate the work of the ATOM Coalition with the wider UICC team.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure effective communication and collaboration among ATOM Coalition partners, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Monitor and evaluate the impact of the Coalition\u2019s activities, reporting progress to the Executive Committee and other stakeholders.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Master's degree in public health, health administration, or a related field.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in global health, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven leadership experience in global health initiatives, with a focus on access to medicines and diagnostics.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience working with the pharmaceutical or diagnostics industry is a strong asset.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Skills and Competencies<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Strong strategic planning and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellence in programme and project delivery.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders from different sectors.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience managing relationships with government officials.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience in fundraising and resource mobilisation, with a track record of securing funding from multiple sources.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of the global oncology landscape, including key challenges and opportunities in LLMICs.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Fluency in English; proficiency in French and\/or Spanish is an asset.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Travel Requirements:<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The role requires approximately 30%-40% travel, including in LLMICs to attend high-level meetings, conferences, and other events related to the ATOM Coalition\u2019s activities.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>Applications <\/strong><\/h4>\r\nSend your CV and motivation letter explaining how you think your skills and experience make you a strong candidate.
