GANHRI promotes and strengthens NHRIs to be in compliance with the Paris Principles and provides leadership for the promotion and protection of human rights.\r\n\r\nGANHRI provides a framework for NHRIs to work together and cooperate at the international level. We coordinate a wide range of activities, including annual meetings, international conferences, networks, training and capacity building.\r\n\r\nGANHRI works in close partnership with the United Nations Human Rights Office \u2013 specifically with the National Institutions and Regional Mechanisms Section (NIRMS) \u2013 and with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). We also work closely with the four Regional Networks of NHRIs in Africa (NANHRI), the Americas (RINDHCA), the Asia Pacific (APF) and Europe (ENNHRI).\r\n\r\nGANHRI is registered in Switzerland as a not-for-profit association. Our Head Office is located in Geneva within the United Nations Office in Geneva Palais des Nations.\r\n<h4><strong>2. General Purpose<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nGANHRI is seeking a <strong>Programme Manager<\/strong> for a maternity leave cover. The position will be full-time based in Geneva, Switzerland, for a fixed term starting from May through to end of September 2025.\r\n\r\nThe Programme Manager provides overall coordination, management and monitoring of GANHRI's activities under the supervision of the Geneva Representatives \/ Director of the Head Office.\r\n<h4><strong>3. Position Summary<\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThe Programme Manager will be responsible for the full Programme cycle management including design, grant management, implementation, budget monitoring, reporting, and results measurement. The position requires strong organizational skills, experience in human rights work, and the ability to manage complex Programmes in challenging environments.\r\n<h4><strong>4. <\/strong><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<strong>Programme Design and Planning<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Develop comprehensive Programme plans, including clear objectives, activities, timelines, and resources<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Conduct stakeholder analyses and ensure meaningful participation in Programme design<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Incorporate human rights-based approaches into all Programme plans<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Develop monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) frameworks<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Grant Management<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Prepare grant proposals and supporting documentation<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Maintain organized grant files and documentation<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Liaise with donors and prepare progress updates as required<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Identify new funding opportunities and contribute to fundraising efforts<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Programme Implementation<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Coordinate Programme activities according to established timelines and plans<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Manage Programme teams and provide guidance to staff and partners<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure activities align with human rights principles and best practices<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Adapt implementation strategies based on evolving contexts and needs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Coordinate with partner organizations, government entities, and other stakeholders<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Budget Management<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Develop and manage Programme budgets<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Monitor expenditures against approved budgets<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Prepare budget revisions as needed<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Collaborate with finance officer on financial reporting and audits<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Monitoring and Reporting<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Implement MEAL plans to track progress toward objectives<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Collect and analyze data on Programme activities and results<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Prepare narrative and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Document lessons learned and best practices<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure timely submission of all required reports<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Results Collection and Management<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Oversee the collection of qualitative and quantitative data<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure data quality and integrity<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Analyze results to assess Programme impact and effectiveness<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Use results to inform adaptive management decisions<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Document and share success stories and case studies<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>5. Qualifications<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<strong>Required<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Master's degree in human rights, international development, social sciences, or related field<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in Programme management, preferably in human rights or related sectors<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proven experience in full Programme cycle management<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong understanding of human rights principles and approaches<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience with donor-funded Programmes and grant management<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent financial management and budgeting skills<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience in data collection and analysis<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Proficiency in English and French<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>Preferred<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Knowledge of specific human rights issues relevant to our work<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience with major institutional donors (e.g., EU, UN agencies, International Foundations, State donors, etc)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Training in Programme management methodologies<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Experience with Programme management software and tools<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Background in capacity building, advocacy and policy work<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h4><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>A unique opportunity to participate in a global alliance, supporting national human rights institutions around the world in their important work to promote and protect human rights<\/li>\r\n \t<li>An opportunity to interact and further build relations with the United Nations, member states, NGOs and partners in Geneva and globally.
