DCAF contributes to making peace and development more sustainable by assisting partner states and international actors supporting these states, to improve the governance of their security sector through inclusive and participatory reforms. It creates innovative knowledge products, promotes norms and good practices, provides legal and policy advice and supports capacity‐building of both state and non‐state security sector stakeholders.

            Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location:                     DCAF HQ, Geneva, Switzerland

Starting date:              As soon as possible

Duration:                      Permanent

Work rate:                    80-100%             

The role

Working closely with and reporting to the Talent Manager, you will play a key operational role in ensuring smooth, timely, and high-quality recruitment processes. You will manage day-to-day recruitment activities and actively support Hiring Managers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

  • Publish job openings across relevant platforms and ensure consistent employer branding
  • Strengthen DCAF’s branding through active participation in career fairs, develop initiatives to promote DCAF as an attractive employer externally via social media
  • When applicable, coordinate and support the full recruitment process up to mid-level positions
  • Ensure timely follow-up with candidates and maintain a positive candidate experience
  • Organize online assessments
  • Carry out references and background checks
  • Track recruitment progress, maintain up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS), provide related KPIs
  • Ensure recruitment activities are aligned with GDPR standards
  • Train users on how to best use the ATS and coordinate training sessions on interviewing skills for Hiring Managers
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Manager to ensure alignment with recruitment priorities and deadlines
  • Support the Talent Manager to ensure a harmonized and professional practice of recruitment activities throughout DCAF
  • Contribute to onboarding procedures and coordinate with HR Operations as needed
  • Support continuous improvement of recruitment tools, templates, and workflows

 Your profile

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar role
  • Experience conducting screenings and interviews up to mid-level roles
  • Experience working in an international, multi-cultural environment
  • Up to date with emerging trends and innovative recruitment practices
  • Hands-on knowledge of an ATS and Selection assessment tools (Assessfirst, EmCo4, other)
  • Fluency in English and French required
  • Strong organizational and transactional skills, with the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong service-oriented and partnership mindset
  • Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
  • Committed to inclusivity and equity, bias-conscious, and dedicated to creating welcoming, people centered hiring processes that reflect DCAF values
  • Proficiency in technology, interest in artificial intelligence and evolving recruitment practices
  • A valid work permit for Switzerland (or Swiss/EU citizenship) at the time of application is a pre-requisite
