FIATA is a global non-profit organisation with over 100 years of tradition, representing freight forwarders, logistics service providers, and their national associations worldwide in the field of international trade logistics and supply chain management.

To support the work of its Professional Development and Sustainability Unit, FIATA is seeking to recruit an Intern. The intern will contribute to the achievement of the Business Unit’s objectives by supporting ongoing tasks, activities, and projects under the supervision of the Business Unit Manager, in line with the organisation’s aims and priorities.

The position is an internship for a duration of 6 months (with the possibility of extension), starting between March and running until September. The internship is preferably full-time, however candidates currently enrolled in a study programme must be available for a minimum commitment of 60% FTE. The intern will report directly to the Business Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General administrative and professional support

  • Assist administratively the Chair of the FIATA Logistics Institute (FLI), which covers aspects related to training and education within the industry of international trade logistics and supply chain management;
  • Draft and prepare briefing notes, reports, minutes in relation to FLI activities;
  • Support in the organisation of the FLI meetings and conduct the relevant follow up;
  • Perform general administrative tasks and support internal processes;
  • Contribute to research, analysis, consultations, and planning activities;;
  • Assist with other areas within the Business Unit’s portfolio, including sustainability and safety and security, and provide back-up support as required;
  • Provide general administrative assistance during the maternity leave coverage period, including but not limited to writing meeting minutes, preparing presentations, supporting the drafting of reports, and assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks as required by the Business Unit Manager.

Education Programme Assistance

  • Support Association members with their training queries;
  • Proceed to the verification of Diploma applications and generate certificates.
  • Prepare and issue invoices;
  • Monitor the invoicing activity and report;
  • Coordinate the validations of education programmes;
  • Monitor the Learning Platform by ensuring that queries are processed.

Qualifications

  • Recently completed a bachelor’s degree, or currently enrolled in a master’s programme, in business management, education sciences, international relations, political sciences, or a related field;
  • Administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and learning-oriented mindset;
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages is an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal, diplomatic, and cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Interest in learning and education, with openness to developing knowledge of logistics and transport;
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, international working environment and handle large volumes of information;
  • Good working knowledge of standard office software.
