Foundation for Global Partnership for Education

Description

I. Background

The Foundation for Global Partnership for Education (Foundation for GPE) is a self-funded Swiss foundation established in Geneva in 2025. Launched alongside GPE’s 5th replenishment campaign, it is a milestone in the engagement with the private sector and philanthropic partners.

The purpose of the Foundation for GPE is to support the mission and objectives of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), the largest global fund solely dedicated to transforming education in lower-income countries, and a unique, multi-stakeholder partnership. GPE works across over 90 countries and territories around the world and is rooted in the principles of country ownership, partner dialogue, sustainable financing and systemic change.

II. Responsibilities

Partner outreach & engagement with philanthropic and private actors

  • Conduct partner and market research to identify prospective donors and strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Support preparation of tailored outreach materials, briefings, pitch decks.
  • Track partner engagement pipelines and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate meetings, including agendas, talking points, and follow-up notes.
  • Support relationship management and maintain a structured CRM database in collaboration with GPE.

Grant management, due diligence and reporting

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing grant agreements and amendments.
  • Support due-diligence processes on prospective donors or partners.
  • Prepare donor reports, financial summaries, and program updates in collaboration.
  • Track grant milestones, deliverables, and reporting schedules.

Governance and coordination with GPE

  • Support coordination processes between the Foundation for GPE and the GPE Secretariat, including the coordination of information flows and alignments across teams.
  • Support Board meetings, including preparatory material, briefing notes and follow-up actions.

Events and communication support

  • Assist in planning and delivering events and meetings, including in connection with the GPE replenishment campaign.
  • Coordinate logistical aspects of events: invitations, outreach lists, materials, run-of-show, and follow-up communications.
  • Prepare event summaries and strategic recommendations for follow-up.
  • Prepare content for the website, social media and outreach tools as needed.

III. Required qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in international development, education, public policy, business, finance or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience (philanthropy, private sector, partnerships, international cooperation, finance, operations).
  • Strong analytical and excellent numerical literacy.
  • Excellent writing and communication competencies (English required; French desirable).
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
  • Strong coordination and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
