Description

Reporting to: Executive Director

The International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers’ Association (“ICoCA”), founded in September 2013, is a multi-stakeholder initiative created to promote, govern, and oversee the implementation of a Code of Conduct (the Code) for private security companies operating in complex environments. The Code seeks to strengthen respect for human rights and international humanitarian law, while raising operational standards across the private security industry. ICoCA’s membership comprises states, private security companies, and civil society organisations. These three pillars together form the Association’s General Assembly, with each pillar equally represented on ICoCA’s Board of Directors.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the Secretariat supports the implementation of the Association’s core functions. We are seeking a Finance Officer with 5 years of post-qualification experience to manage day-to-day financial and accounting activities, support budgeting and grant management, and ensure transparency and compliance in financial reporting. You will join a motivated, collaborative team in a young organisation, with the opportunity to improve financial tools and processes to strengthen governance and support the organisation’s growth.

Main Responsibilities

Financial Management and Budgeting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure accurate budget monitoring.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial sustainability of the organization.
  • Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Manage the organization’s bank accounts and payment processes.
  • Support teams in preparing budgets for new project proposals.

Accounting, Audits, and Internal Control

  • Oversee daily accounting operations carried out by the fiduciary and contribute to the annual closing.
  • Manage invoicing, receivables, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure timely follow-up on recommendations.

Donor Relations and Reporting

  • Serve as the financial focal point for institutional donors and foundations, ensuring timely and compliant reporting.
  • Ensure proper financial tracking, compliance, and documentation for all grants and projects.
  • Support donor-related financial activities and participate in audits or reviews as required.

Tools, Processes, and Team Collaboration

  • Develop dashboards, optimise financial processes, and support teams in budget monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Administration, and other teams, staying abreast of finance best practices and regulatory changes.

Your Profile

  • Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting, or Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss accounting, financial, and tax regulations.
  • Experience in an international organisation and/or donor relations is an asset.
  • Proven skills in budgeting, cash management, and internal controls.
  • Solid background in accounting systems, including setup, use, and monitoring.
