This internship is part of an academic training program, a professional training program, or a socio-professional integration program, and must comply with the conditions set by the Employment Market Supervisory Council (CSME). The duration of the internship, as defined by the tripartite agreement, is 6 to 12 months at 100%

Context & mission

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, people affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

The Information Systems Department is organized into several units, one of them being the Information Security team.  The Information Security team deals with day-to-day information security events (security alerts or requests) as well as infosec-related projects. Its activities are transversal and impacting all departments and units of MSF Switzerland, requiring the upmost vigilance and attention.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Select, test and implement, with the help of the acting Information Security Manager, several phishing exercises using the existing dedicated platform.
  • Coordinate with the IS Officers in the field to monitor and help on the currently ongoing global MFA deployment initiative.
  • Prepare, with the help of the acting Information Security Manager, the migration of the IT security training platform to an internal digital training solution.
  • Coordinate with the security monitoring tool provider to implement rules to clean the IT security monitoring dashboard, allowing the IT security team to focus on relevant security events.
  • Perform a first level analysis and triage on the incoming information security-related tickets.
  • Analyze the weekly reports generated by the vulnerability scanners.

Your profile

  • Have a tripartite internship agreement
  • Perusing a degree in computer science or related field preferably with a specialization in information security
  • Very strong interest in information security
  • Fluent in English and French

Terms of employment

  • A tripartite internship agreement is mandatory
  • 6 months
  • Full time (40h/week)
  • Based in Geneva, Switzerland

  • Gross monthly remuneration 2'000.- CHF
