Description
The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) is requesting expressions of interest for an independent consultant to support IOE’s work on circular economy policies and enabling environments.

About the consultancy:
- Analyse and review the landscape of circular economy national policies and involvement of employers’ organisations, providing a concise overview of what is circular economy, how governments have been developing it and how employers’ organisations are working on this issue.
- Develop a review of existing business services for supporting and developing circular economy practices as well as policies.
- Engage IOE members and company partners with expertise in the area on best practices, recommendations, and existing work in the field.
- Define priorities, opportunities, gaps and challenges for a coherent and efficient circular economy policy framework and how employers’ organisations can work on this topic.
- Provide a short section on skills considerations for circular economy, explore its employment potential, and how can employers and governments work on developing and anticipating skills for circular jobs.
- Prepare a set of main messages and key takeaways, ensuring the final toolkit is within 25 pages.
Timeline: February 2025 to May 2025
Location: Home based.
Competencies:
- Expertise in circular economy policies and practices, linkages between skills development and circular economy development as well as a good understanding of current trends and relevant organisations.
- Excellent knowledge of private sector needs in different regions and/or experience with employers’ networks and business
- Exceptional English writing, research skills and a good command of tools like Microsoft Word.
- Ability to distill complex information clearly and concisely.
- Good communication and ability to clearly structure inputs, feedback and comments, as well as to efficiently handle versioning of documents.
Additional information: The consultant will work independently and address statutory contributions in their country of residence. You must be registered as an independent consultant in your country of residence, affiliated with a university, or a registered organisation/company to apply for this consultancy.
Funding: the proposed funding available is 5000 EUR
