Description
The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) is requesting expressions of interest for an independent consultant to provide a media training session for selected IOE members.

About the consultancy
The consultant will be expected to design and deliver a comprehensive media training covering the following areas:
Fundamentals of Media Relations
- Overview of the media landscape.
- Understanding journalist roles, reporting styles, and editorial decision-making.
- Review of effective digital distribution and dissemination platform
Crafting Key Messages
- Techniques for developing concise, persuasive, and audience-focused messages.
- Aligning messaging with advocacy objectives – i.e., influencing policy or legislation, raising public awareness about an issue, mobilising community action or changing behaviour or perceptions.
- Practical exercises in message development.
Interview Skills (Digital, TV, Print, Online)
- Preparing for different types of interviews.
- Responding to difficult or unexpected questions.
- Practical simulations of live interviews.
- Tips for body language, tone, and presentation in media engagements.

Location: Istanbul, Türkiye
Competencies
- Media Expertise: Strong knowledge of traditional and digital media and current trends.
- Advocacy Communication: Experience aligning communication strategies with advocacy objectives such as policy influence, public awareness, or behavior change.
- Message Development: Proven ability to craft concise, persuasive key messages.
- Media Engagement: Practical experience working with journalists and media houses, including pitching stories and building effective relationships.
- Interview & Presentation Skills: Demonstrated ability to coach participants in TV, radio, print, and online interviews, including body language and confidence.
- Training & Facilitation: Expertise in adult learning, designing interactive workshops, and using role-play and simulations to build skills.
- Coaching & Feedback: Strong ability to provide constructive feedback that helps participants refine and improve their media skills.
Fees and Expenses
The consultant will receive a final fee of EUR 3000, and all travel and accommodation expenses related to the training will be covered by IOE.
Additional information: The consultant will work independently and address statutory contributions in their country of residence. You must be registered as an independent consultant in your country of residence, affiliated with a university, or a registered organisation/company to apply for this consultancy.
