Description

R20, Regions of Climate Action, sponsor of the Subnational Climate Fund (SCF) initiative supported by the Green Climate Fund, is seeking a Pipeline Project Manager for its activities within the SCF initiative and beyond.

The SCF is a blended finance impact fund designed to pursue attractive risk-adjusted returns for private investors while generating measurable and certified environmental and social impacts. The Fund is focused exclusively on pursuing investments in mid-size climate infrastructure and nature-based solutions in various developing countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, the Mediterranean, and Asia. The Fund is managed by Pegasus Capital Advisors, a commercial Private Equity impact fund manager and further benefits from a separate, grant-funded Technical Assistance facility managed by The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and implemented by R20, IUCN, and Gold Standard.

Working closely with the Director of Programme of R20 and R20’s partners in the SCF and beyond, the Pipeline Project Manager will manage technical assistance projects within the scope of the project preparation pipeline, as well as assisting in project sourcing, screening and assessment. In conducting the mentioned tasks, reporting to the Director of Programmes, the Pipeline Project Manager will coordinate closely with the SCF consortium members and other partners.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical assistance projects within the scope of the project preparation pipeline, including but not limited to project pre-feasibility assessment, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment. These studies will be mostly conducted by external experts.
  • Assist in project sourcing, screening and assessment
  • Create and manage tools and databases for the carrying out of the afore-mentioned activities
  • Coordinate with and consult the SCF consortium partners in the preparation, implementation and reporting of the technical assistance projects
  • Supply content to the SCF’s reporting, quarterly and annually
  • Support the Director of Programmes in project pipeline management
  • Conduct similar activities for initiatives of R20 besides the SCF

Profile:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position, either with investment funds, international organisations, or NGOs
  • Knowledge and working experience in the following sectors a strong preference: waste management, or regenerative agriculture
  • Passionate about climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity, and sustainability with a strong commitment towards a more sustainable world
  • Team player, flexible and able to work in a multicultural environment
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient English level in writing and speaking. Fluency in other UN languages, especially Spanish, a plus
  • Excellent writing, drafting and editing skills
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental science, finance, economics, or international relations

The working station will be Geneva with travels depending on project needs.
