Working for the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack/GCPEA (which is hosted in Geneva by Save the Children), the advocacy officer will conduct advocacy related to promoting the endorsement and implementation of the Safe Schools Declaration and the Guidelines for Protecting Schools and Universities from Military Use during Armed Conflict.

The GCPEA Advocacy Officer is responsible for implementing GCPEA’s advocacy strategy, and producing high-quality advocacy products to influence global conversations and processes related to the protection of education from attack. He/she supports GCPEA’s advocacy efforts to influence UN and intergovernmental agendas related to the Safe School Declaration and implementation activities at international, regional and national levels.

The postholder works on various and inter-connected agenda at the Geneva level: Education in Emergencies, Children and Armed Conflict, engagement with humanitarian crises and engagement with the Human Rights Council.
