The Climate Action Accelerator

Description

The Climate Action Accelerator is a new international non-profit initiative based in Geneva, with the aim of mobilizing a critical mass of intermediary organizations to scale up the implementation of climate solutions, keep global warming below 2°C and avoid the risk of dangerous runaway climate change. Partner of the UNFCCC's RACE TO ZERO campaign, the Initiative already includes 16 international aid and health organisations, including: Terre des hommes, the International Committee of the Red Cross and Doctors without Borders. By integrating them into a community of action, the initiative helps these organizations to reduce their own GHG emissions by at least half each decade. This effort is intended to contribute to a domino effect that encourages the exponential deployment of sustainable solutions throughout society.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to the initiative's fundraising activities:

  • Prospecting new funding partners in Switzerland and abroad with a focus on foundations, corporate sponsors, as well as private and institutional donors (ECHO, etc.)
  • Write and submit fundraising proposals
  • Represent the organisation before donors and prospects
  • Support the fundraising efforts of partner organisations
  • Contribute to cross-cutting projects

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Educational background in management, business school, marketing, political science or equivalent;
  • Additional training or education in sustainability/environment, environmental transition is an asset
  • Fluent use of German, French, German and English (spoken and written) is required
  • Motivated, open-minded and outgoing personality, who is not afraid to contribute new ideas
  • Adherence to the values and projects of the initiative
