Background
The Access to Oncology Medicines Coalition (ATOM Coalition) is a global initiative, led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), in collaboration with over 40 partners across the private and civil society sectors. It aims to address the barriers to availability, affordability and appropriate use of oncology medicines in low- and lower-middle income countries (LLMICs).
The ATOM Coalition Program Manager will be responsible for leading the nilotinib voluntary license implementation strategy. She/he will support the timely completion of key deliverables and lead on the tracking of programmatic milestones. The Program Manager will also serve as primary liaison between the ATOM Coalition secretariat and relevant UICC teams based in Geneva.
Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate the nilotinib voluntary licence implementation strategy, including:
- Convening and driving the nilotinib task team comprised of ATOM senior management team members, UICC staff and external partners, including the Medicines Patent Pool and others
- Developing and managing the nilotinib VL project management tools, to ensure timely implementation of key activities related to all aspects of the implementation plan (e.g. data insights, research and publications, partner contracting and negotiations, country roll-out)
- Collaborating with country-level stakeholders supporting data collection and demand generation
- Drafting technical and funder progress reports
- Provide input on academic research articles and publications
Support the timely implementation of critical deliverables and milestones, including:
- Lead on developing a matrix map of partner offers of technical assistance to ATOM target countries and developing action plans and timelines for timely implementation of activities
- Provide additional support as required to country support team to ensure that key deliverables are completed
- Lead on managing and updating the global ATOM project management Gannt chart and milestone mapping framework, revising estimates to complete key deliverables, adding outputs as needed.
- Collaborating closely with UICC teams to ensure smooth coordination and alignment on key ATOM activities, events and planning processes
- Lead on organisation and archiving of all key ATOM materials, documents and presentations on the UICC SharePoint drive
In coordination with the ATOM Coalition senior management team, ensure timely delivery of all key governance meetings, global workshops and webinars, including:
- Developing and overseeing the schedule for quarterly ATOM Coalition governance meetings
- Drafting and developing materials and presentations for key ATOM Coalition governance meetings
- Preparing materials and presentations on the ATOM Coalition for UICC Board meetings
- Coordinating the organisation of ATOM Coalition-focused global and country-level webinars, meetings and events
- Review and input on key ATOM Coalition global presentations, proposals, concept notes; provide input on communication materials, including monthly partner updates.
Skills and experience
- Degree in science and/or global public health related field, graduate degree preferred
- 5-7 years professional experience supporting implementation science research, preferably focused on cancer and/or other NCDs
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders at the global and country levels
- Fluent in English, French and/or Spanish a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including use of relevant on-line software and platforms, including Microsoft Office, MSTeams, Zoom, SurveyMonkey
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively with both remote and in-office teams
