- Job title: Digital & Web Specialist
- Reports to: Senior Digital Strategy Manager
- Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Summary of the position
The Digital & Web Specialist supports the development, curation and maintenance of UICC’s digital platforms, including its websites, Customer/Constituent Relationship Management (CRM), and other digital platforms and Apps, under the guidance of the Senior Digital Strategy Manager. The role involves working closely with the other UICC teams (Knowledge, Advocacy and Policy, Congress, Capacity Building, Members, Partners and Finance and Administration) to understand and meet their digital and web needs.
Main responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Development, improvement and maintenance of digital platforms
- Participate in improving and developing existing and future digital platforms to make them user-friendly, accessible, and engaging. Adhere to web standards and best practices, all while maintaining consistency with UICC’s Communications Strategy.
- Update and maintain the content and functionality of UICC's websites and other digital platforms, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Gather the digital needs of UICC staff for website-related initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance, such as publishing content, resolving inquiries, or identifying technical issues, across various digital channels.
- Liaise with web developers and other external suppliers when necessary, for the implementation of changes and fixes.
Web content production, support and quality control
- Create and disseminate website content: construct web pages, compose and refine text for the web, and multimedia materials, procure or produce captivating images, ensure controlled quality, maintain accuracy and consistency, and enhance all materials for web use and search engine optimisation (SEO).
- Work with staff to make sure that their communications needs are supported through a strong web presence.
Mass-emailing / marketing automation
- Coordinate, prepare, and schedule the sending of mass-emailing communications, for example the regular UICC newsletter and other mass-email communications.
- Support the design and implementation of customer/constituent journeys
- Develop marketing automation when needed, for example for the customer/constituent journey.
- Administer mass-emailing and transactional email systems accounts (Mailchimp/MS Dynamics), as well as other online services used by UICC and the Communications Team when needed.
General administration and training
- Administer user accounts and conduct regular web-editor training for staff members.
- Help administer the use of the various digtial platforms (CRM, Digital Asset Management, Project Management, etc.) by staff and conduct regular trainings for staff.
Digital marketing (SEO and SEA) and analytics
- Develop, conduct and monitor Search Engine Advertising (SEA) campaigns, using Google Ads and/or Google Grants for non-profits.
- Support social media advertising campaigns.
- Monitor, analyse and issue regular web / digital performance reports of UICC’s web properties (via Google Analytics and other monitoring tools).
- Provide guidance on SEO through regular SEO performance analysis reports.
Skills and experience
- A relevant advanced university or technical degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an area related to the job description e.g. computer and communications science, web project management, digital marketing, etc.
- Experience in using content management systems (CMS), such as Drupal, WordPress, or other.
- Experience in using mass-emailing platforms, such as Mailchimp, Dynamics Marketing or other.
- Experience in using web analytics and digital marketing tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Grants, Google Ads, or LinkedIn/Facebook Ads.
- Experience and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Demonstrated fluency in English - written and spoken; with French, Spanish and/or any other languages being a plus
- Excellent oral and writing skills including the ability to synthesise information
- Creative, innovative, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong team player, with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
- Interest in global public health issues and working in an international non-governmental organisation environment.
