Center for Reproductive Rights – Europe Office

Background

The Center for Reproductive Rights (the Center) uses the power of law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights around the world. The Europe Office works to promote, advance and defend sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) across Europe.

The Center is seeking a skilled Communications Consultant to strengthen our communications and advocacy work through the strategic use of social media channels. The consultant will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager for Europe and support communications initiatives targeting European audiences, focusing primarily on social media.

Scope of Work

Social Media:

  • Develop, maintain and execute a monthly social media calendar aligned with overarching communication priorities.
  • Draft, edit and schedule reactive and proactive social media content in response to key SRHR developments across Europe.
  • Conceptualize, draft and implement social media campaigns, from idea development to post drafting and design.
  • Design basic social media graphics using Canva in line with the Center’s brand guidelines.
  • Produce content based on the Center’s research and advocacy outputs.
  • Monitor relevant awareness and international days, anniversaries, and other opportunities to produce timely content.
  • Manage and optimize content for key social media platforms: Instagram, Twitter/X, Bluesky and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor, report and analyze the performance of social media posts and campaigns, using insights to optimize future content strategies.
  • Light community management across platforms, including monitoring comments and direct messages.
  • Flag important opportunities, inquiries or risks to the Senior Communications Manager for Europe.
  • Support engagement with key partners, influencers and allies online as appropriate.

Content Library:

  • Develop and maintain an internal content library including evergreen posts, infographics, templates and visuals for recurring use.
  • Organize content assets for easy access and future adaptation.

Additional Communications Support:

  • Conduct media monitoring to support proactive and reactive media engagement.
  • Support the Senior Communications Manager in day-to-day communications tasks, including maintaining media lists, updating content repositories, and drafting simple communications materials.

Deliverables

  • Monthly social media calendars with planned posts.
  • Drafted posts (text and graphic assets) for campaigns and major dates/events.
  • Monthly social media analytics reports.
  • Weekly media monitoring reports, highlighting major SRHR news and developments relevant to the Center’s work in Europe.
  • Updated and organized internal content library.
  • Ad-hoc support deliverables as assigned.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience managing and developing professional social media accounts for nonprofits, human rights, advocacy or public interest organizations in Europe.
  • Demonstrated experience in community management.
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills in English (essential) and ideally additional European languages.
  • Proficiency in Canva for graphic design.
  • Basic knowledge of social media analytics and platform insights.
  • Understanding of SRHR issues and sensitivity to working on this topic.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience using simple video editing tools (e.g. Canva Video, CapCut, InShot) to create short, engaging social media clips is a plus.

Location and Working Hours

This is a remote consultancy position. The Center’s Europe Office is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and we require a consultant who can align their working hours to Central European Time (CET) to ensure availability for team coordination and responsiveness during core working hours.

Duration

Initial part-time contract of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The consultancy will be for a period of 3 to 4 days per week, with the flexibility to adjust time commitment as needed.  Availability to handle urgent matters on short notice is also expected.

Application Requirements

Interested applicants should submit the following:

  • Brief cover letter outlining relevant experience and motivation
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Examples or links to relevant work (e.g. writing samples, social media campaigns, graphics)
  • Daily or hourly rate

Applicants are requested to submit their proposals to mkralj@reprorights.org no later than 20 June 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submissions are strongly encouraged.
