Description

IOE – INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION OF EMPLOYERS

Description

The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) is requesting expressions of interest for an independent consultant to draft six (6) policy factsheets for digital platforms and print.

About IOE

IOE is the largest private sector network in the world, representing 50 million businesses through over 150 national employers’ organisations. IOE is the sole representative of business in social and employment policy debates taking place at the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations, G20 and other global forums. IOE is recognised for its unique expertise, advocacy, and influence as a powerful and balanced voice for business at the international level. IOE consolidates the perspectives and priorities of national employers’ and business organisations in one single, effective, and coherent voice. Our vision is to create a sustainable economic environment worldwide, promoting free enterprise that is both fair and beneficial to businesses and society.

About the Consultancy

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in crafting SEO-optimised and offline content that explores complex policy issues across a range of thematic areas. The Consultant will need to be adept at translating technical and policy-heavy material into clear, accessible language that resonates with diverse audiences, including policymakers, employers’ organisations, private sector stakeholders, and the general public. A strong understanding of the global policy landscape is essential. Experience working with or writing for international organisations will be a strong asset. Specifically, the assignment will cover the drafting of updated factsheets on employer positions in six policy priority areas: Human Rights and Responsible Business Conduct, Employment and Skills, Sustainable Development, Trade and Employment, Gender Equality and Diversity, and Climate Change and Just Transition. These factsheets will be printed and adapted into shorter versions to serve as introductory content for the policy sections of the institutional website.

Process and Deliverables

Engage with relevant IOE advisors and the communications team to gather input and ensure alignment on key messages and appropriate references or links to existing resources. This collaborative process will ensure that the content reflects IOE’s policy positions. Using the agreed messaging, the Consultant will draft high-quality content tailored for both print and digital platforms. The print version should not exceed 750 words, while the digital version—an abbreviated and SEO-optimised adaptation of the printed factsheet—should be no more than 350 words. Both versions must be clear, engaging, and ready for review. The Consultant will also be responsible for managing two rounds of feedback on the print content in close coordination with the IOE Communications Officer. Develop a practical and easy-to-follow SEO checklist or mini guide tailored to IOE’s content needs. This resource will support the communications team and content contributors in creating future content that is discoverable, keyword-informed, and aligned with SEO best practices.
