About the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is a membership organisation that unites and supports the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda. Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, UICC’s growing membership of over 1150 organizations across 170 countries and territories features the world’s major cancer societies, cancer centres, ministries of health, research institutes, and patient groups. Fostering inclusive partnerships represents the foundation of how UICC operates and delivers impact. This is why UICC works hand in hand with a variety of stakeholders to drive changes and make progress in the fight against cancer.

About the ATOM Coalition

The Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition is a global initiative led by UICC in collaboration with over 40 partners across the private and civil society sectors. The ATOM Coalition aims to reduce cancer-related suffering and deaths by addressing barriers to the availability, affordability, and appropriate use of oncology medicines in low- and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs). The Coalition focuses on strengthening the capacity of countries and systems, increasing the availability of essential generics and biosimilars, and enabling access to innovative medicines.
